Cindy Drozda Finial Box Spalted Maple

I saw Cindy at the AAW virtual symposium this summer and she showed us how to make these gorgeous finial boxes. This is my example made from spalted maple and walnut. My finial is much different that hers but something in the wood told me to do what I did. What you see is the final product. There are carvings on the inside of the lid to surprise anyone that opens it. This box stands 5” tall and 2.5” round.
